Sunday Gatherings

Following Jesus and growing together

Every Sunday, people from different ages, cultures and backgrounds gather to turn our attention towards Jesus. We sing, pray, open the Bible and encourage one another to live with faith, love and courage throughout the week.

NPR is a smaller, relational church. People matter more to us than putting on a polished production. We are learning to know one another, listen well, make space for different voices and follow Jesus together through ordinary life.

Whether you have followed Jesus for years, are returning to church or are beginning to explore Christian faith, you can listen, ask questions and take your next step without pressure.

Your first Sunday

A personal gathering shaped around Jesus

Visiting a church for the first time can feel uncertain. Here is an honest picture of what you will find at NPR.

A warm, personal welcome

A member of the community will greet you and help you find your way. You can sit wherever you feel comfortable and join in as much or as little as you wish.

Worship without a performance

Our worship is simple and sincere. We sing, pray, listen and make room for God to meet us through Scripture, silence, testimony and different forms of participation.

Faith for the rest of the week

We explore how following Jesus shapes our relationships, choices, work, care for others and response to what is happening in our neighbourhood.

A simple, relational kind of church

If you are looking for a large stage, a big worship band or a highly produced Sunday event, NPR will probably feel different. We are a smaller community and our gatherings can be simple, personal and sometimes imperfect.

What we are seeking is deeper than a polished event. We want to keep Jesus at the centre, know one another beyond names and faces, pray honestly, learn from Scripture and help each other take the next faithful step.

A few things you will not have to worry about

We know visiting a church can come with a few nerves, so here are some things that will definitely not happen at NPR.

  • We will not ask you to stand up, wave or introduce yourself to the whole church because you are new.
  • You will not encounter smoke machines, flashing lights or surprise concert effects.
  • The pastor will not descend on a zip wire before preaching. He will walk to the front like everyone else.
  • No one will pressure you to sing, pray aloud or explain what you believe.
  • You do not need special clothes, church vocabulary or a perfectly organised life before visiting.
  • We will not expect you to have all your questions answered before you begin exploring faith.

Growing faith, confidence and friendship

Children and young people are not an afterthought. We want them to be known, listened to and given room to ask questions, contribute their gifts and discover Jesus for themselves.

During our 10:30am gathering, children can explore stories from the Bible through conversation, creativity, prayer and activities suited to their age.

Available weekly during the Sunday gathering.
