NPR Karate Club

Build confidence. Learn practical skills. Grow stronger together.

Looking for a welcoming place to begin karate or take your skills further? NPR Karate Club gives children, young people and adults structured coaching, plenty of encouragement and the opportunity to progress at their own pace.

At New Park Road Baptist Church, we want younger people to have spaces where they are noticed, encouraged and equipped to grow. We facilitate this club to help people build confidence, develop self-control, learn practical self-defence and form positive relationships across the community.

Why we are facilitating NPR Karate Club

Creating space for confidence, discipline and community

NPR Karate Club is about more than filling an evening with another activity. We want local children, young people and adults to have a welcoming place where they can develop practical skills, discover what they are capable of and encourage one another.

By making this space available, we are investing in younger people, strengthening relationships across our neighbourhood and helping students develop skills that can serve them in karate and everyday life.

Confidence that is earned

Students learn new skills one step at a time. Progress builds self-belief and helps young people recognise what they can achieve through practice and perseverance.

Practical self-defence

Students develop awareness and age-appropriate self-defence skills. They learn that strength should be used responsibly and that personal safety begins with good judgement and self-control.

Respect and encouragement

The club brings different ages and abilities together. Students learn to listen, respect one another and help everyone in the group make progress.
