Community Café
Space to work, connect and find support
An open café space for the whole community. Bring your laptop, meet someone for coffee, use the Wi-Fi, or connect with practical support.
How will you spend your Wednesday?
People come to the café for different reasons. Some bring work, some arrange to meet a friend, and others enjoy the chance to get to know people. There is no right reason to visit. Stay for a quick drink or make the café part of your day.
Bring some work
Need a change of scene? Bring your laptop, choose a table and connect to our free Wi-Fi. Stay for an hour or work here throughout the day.
Meet someone
Come with a friend or get to know someone new over a drink. Join a conversation or enjoy a little company while you get on with your day.
Talk things through
If you have questions about money, benefits, work or another concern, you can speak privately with someone who understands. Ask one of the café team and we will help you find the right person.
Someone to talk to. Useful help close by.
Life can become complicated. Money worries, changes at work, benefits and other pressures can leave us unsure what to do next. Having the right conversation can help. On Wednesdays, organisations with useful experience are available within the café. Your conversation will be treated with care and privacy. Support is part of the café, but it is not the only reason people come.
Crosslight Advice
Money worries can happen to anyone. Crosslight Advice offers free and confidential debt and money advice.
They will listen, help you make sense of your situation and talk through the possible next steps. You remain in control of any decisions.

Visiting organisations
Other organisations will join us at different times to offer information about housing, health, family life, employment, digital access and activities taking place locally.
The organisations available may change, so please check our latest updates if you hope to meet a particular service.
A simple, friendly welcome
One of our café team will be nearby when you arrive. Find a table, have a drink and settle in.
You can open your laptop, meet someone, join a conversation or quietly get on with your day. If you would like practical support, let us know and we will help you find the right person.
You do not need to attend New Park Road Baptist Church or share our Christian faith. The café is open to everyone.

Why we open the café
We want our church building to be useful throughout the week, not only on Sundays. The café is a practical way to share what we have: tables, Wi-Fi, warm drinks, conversation, time to listen and connections with people who can help. Our faith in Jesus encourages us to welcome people generously and care about the pressures of everyday life. Whatever you believe, we would be glad to welcome you.
