A space to remember and give thanks
Grief has no timetable. Whether someone you love died recently or many years ago, you are warmly invited to our Service to Remember at New Park Road Baptist Church.
We will make space to remember those we miss, give thanks for their lives and bring our grief before God. You are welcome whatever your faith, and whether or not you have a connection with a church.
Wednesday 11th November 2026
7pm to 8pm
Refreshments after the service
Free admission. No booking required.
What to expect
This will be a reflective service with hymns, music, readings, prayer and time for silence.
There will be no sermon and no expectation to speak or take part publicly. You are welcome to sing, listen or simply sit quietly. There is no particular way you need to feel, and no need to find words for what you carry.
Remembering someone you love
During the service, a slideshow of names and photographs, accompanied by music, will help us remember those who have died.
If you would like someone to be included, please share their name through our remembrance form.
You may also include a photograph, their date of birth and the date they died, but these are entirely optional. A name is enough.
Photographs and remembrance details will be shown only during the service. They will not be used in publicity or shared online.
You are welcome to attend without submitting a name. You can also submit a name if you are unable to join us.
A warm welcome
The church has step-free access and accessible seating. You are welcome to step outside and return whenever you need.
After the service, feel free to stay for refreshments if you wish. There will be time to talk, or simply to sit with others.
Come as you are. There is space for you, and for the memories you carry.
You are welcome to attend without submitting a name. You can also submit a name if you are unable to join us.
