Carrying someone’s story means refusing to erase what happened. It also means refusing to reduce people to what was done to them. We remember suffering alongside faith, resistance, courage, culture and survival.

Being real is not about sharing everything with everyone. It is about becoming a community where honesty is met with grace, vulnerability is treated with care, and people can grow in trust. This reflection asks both, “Who is safe for me to share with?” and, just as importantly, “Am I becoming someone others can trust?”

The world often treats responsibility as a step upwards.

It can bring recognition, influence and the ability to shape what happens. Jesus turns that picture upside down.

For Jesus, greatness is found in service.

God gives people many different gifts.

Some communicate clearly. Some organise well. Some bring creativity, wisdom, compassion, courage or practical skill. The church is strengthened when these gifts are recognised and offered generously.

A branch does not produce fruit by trying harder to appear useful. It bears fruit because it remains connected to the vine. In the same way, Christian service does not begin with our ability, confidence or enthusiasm. It begins with Christ.
